[edit] Summary
In flashforwards, the Oceanic Six — Jack Shephard, Kate Austen, Sayid Jarrah, Sun-Hwa Kwon, Hugo "Hurley" Reyes and Aaron Littleton — arrive in Honolulu where they are greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Paik, Margo Shephard, and Carmen and David Reyes. In the ensuing media circus, the Oceanic Six give a press conference where they tell a cover story to appease the press. Although there were several holes in their story such as how their bodies remained largely unaffected after more than 100 days and the timeline of Kate's "pregnancy", the group managed to get off with their lie. Afterwards, Sayid is led outside where he reunites with Noor Abed Jazeem. Sometime later, Sun visits her father and informs him that he is responsible for her husband, Jin’s death, and that she has bought a majority share in her father’s company as revenge. Back in the United States, Hurley’s parents have thrown him a surprise birthday party and his dad shows Hurley that he rebuilt their old Camaro. Hurley is excited until he notices that the odometer reads the Numbers, which causes him to panic and run away. In the final flashforward, Jack eulogizes his father, Christian Shephard, at his funeral. Afterwards, Claire’s mom, Carole Littleton reveals to him that Claire is his half-sister.
On the island, Jack and Kate follow the signal from the phone dropped from a helicopter by Frank Lapidus. They encounter Sawyer, Aaron and Miles Straume; Kate takes the baby and Miles back to the beach. Jack and Sawyer meet up with Lapidus, who has been handcuffed to the helicopter; they are set to leave when they decide they need to rescue Hurley from Ben and Locke. Meanwhile, Sayid arrives at the beach on the zodiac raft just as Kate returns. Sayid and Kate go after Jack and Sawyer, but are instead captured by Richard Alpert and the rest of the Others. Daniel, starts ferrying people back to the freighter Kahana; Sun, Jin and 3 background survivors arrive at the boat, only to discover a large amount of C4 on board.
Ben, Locke, and Hurley arrive at the DHARMA Initiative Orchid station, which is disguised as a greenhouse. Ben sends Locke to the “real” part of the station and turns himself into the mercenaries, who had previously arrived.
