Claire[]

What proof or inclination is there that Jack's half sister is Claire? Ryan stowers 11:19, 21 February 2007 (PST)

  • Maybe it's because in Par Avion it's revealed that Claire's father IS Christian Sheppard.
  • She is blond and bears resemblance to her mother, Lindsay. She is Australian, which is a big factor. And Thomas mentions that Claire had "daddy abandonment issues". I believe also something was mentioned by one of the writers that we would one day see who she is, in the show.-Mr.Leaf 11:21, 21 February 2007 (PST)

There is a rather strong peice of evidence to point to her not being Linsey's daughter however as in Raised by Another she says she couldn't tell her mom about her pregnancy. One would feel that is Linsey was her mom she would be able to relate to her mom's situation. Maybe Claire does not know the whole story. (If there is one.) Yet Mr. Leaf is right and this definately belongs here as it is one of the most commenly held theories around. --Princess Dharma (banned) 11:24, 21 February 2007 (PST)

Is Jack really Christian Shephard's son?[]

  • Maybe this could explain some things. Like, why Aaron and Claire are special to the island in a level Jack is not.
  • Jack seemed to be no very 'loved' during his childhood, maybe Christian was aware that Jack was someone´s else son.
  • By now, we now that, Walt, Locke, Claire and Ben are special, in a different way than Jack is.
  • All this may by untrue, maybe Jack´s real porpouse on the island, and his special relation to it, is still to be uncovered.

Island Role[]

  • Jack is not one of the good guys. When he first met Tom (Mr. Friendly) in the jungle, he was confrontational and looking for a fight. In some ways this is understandable since they took Walt and Claire, however, it would have made more sense for him to say, "We are survivors of a plane crash. We don't want to be here and we don't want any trouble." Perhaps if he had said something like this and asked for help, things would have gone down very differently.
  • Jack is one of the descendants of true natives like Richard, Ethan, Ben, John, Walt, Juliet, Mikhail and Jacob. This could answer why he survived when he fell from the heavens on the Island and didn't hurt, how come he met the Monster and this was offscreen ("Pilot, Part 1") and why he is destined to have a hell in life without the Island.
  • In Man of Science, Man of Faith most people assume Locke is the man of faith and Jack the man of science. It is really the other way round. Locke bases his actions and ideas on Empirical evidence, whilst Jack bases his on beliefs even if the evidence suggests otherwise.
    • Actually in the commentary of that episode, they say that many people believe that Locke is the man of faith and Jack is the man of science, but really is all about Jack being a believer and a man of science.

Future of Jack[]

  • Jack will travel through time and will redo the operation he did not finish well when he was a young doctor. Therefore, his future self will cause the "miracle" we have seen in season 1: His later wife will be able to walk again.
  • Jack's story will parallel Michael's. Both men were offered chances of rescue if they did what the Others wanted. However, while Michael selfishly sold out his friends for Walt and the boat, Jack won't sell out his friends for his own rescue.
    • Jack isn't on the list. Danny Pickett says, "Shephard wasn't even on Jacob's list".
      • Jack isn't on Jacob's list because in the initial draft of the pilot, he died.
      • Considering the "Jacob's List" comment was made in Season 3, the writer's were not operating under the same circumstances as in the pilot
        • Jack isn't on Jacob's list because he was only the means to bring Christian to the island and save Ben in order to bring Locke to Jacob. Jack himself is faithless and expendable. In addition, every decision he's made has been detrimental to the island and the survivors.
  • Jack's story will parallel Michael's. Jack will do something he feels guilty about in order to get off the island (along with the other O6 members). His guilt will be just like Michael's and he will try to kill himself (drugs, alcohol, bridge jumping). This will not work though because we know that "he's still got work to do". Enter season 6...
(What? Please explain. Get off the island, they already got off the island and are now back, but you ref the O6 so you already know that. Confused. Please make clearer.)
  • Jack isn't on Jacob's list, because Jack is in fact Jacob.
  • Jack, not Locke, is the Chosen One. (Already stated in this section.)
    • Jack is the Chosen One and Locke is his 'Richard'
  • Even though Locke is dead, Jack will carry on his "teachings" and finish the things in Locke's name. (Lacks evidence and is speculation)

Relationship with Aaron[]

  • Aaron also upsets Jack because he reminds him of what Christian did and kept from Jack and his mother.
    • Aaron could possibly bring bad memories of Claire and Jack not being able to save her - therefore he blames himself
