Suzanne was the mother of Kevin Callis and three other boys. Her mother had given her a necklace once, and she had intended to pass it on to her own daughter. However, as she had only sons, she was thrilled when her son, Kevin got engaged to a woman named Monica. The day of the wedding, Suzanne went to Monica before the ceremony and gave her the necklace. When Monica later revealed to Kevin that she was a fugitive living a lie, she left the necklace with him.
