Lost/Gilligan's Island Matchup

This is why it's bad to have me bored. Anyone see any analogies between any of the castaways on this island and those on Gilligan's island? Here are the ones I see.

Shannon = Ginger: Both were shallow, selfish and used sex as a tool.

Sayid = the Professer: Both function as the techies of the group.

Sun = Mary Ann: Sun is generally considered the nicest of the castaways and has a garden. Mary Ann epitomized the "sweet innocent farm girl".

No other strong correspondences yet IMHGO. Hurley is a millionaire but otherwise has nothing in common with Thurston Howell. Neither Locke nor Jack, the two leaders are at all like the Skipper. Nor can I think of anyone who even comes close to being the group's "Gilligan".--Tricksterson 07:08, 29 April 2006 (PDT)

The Monty comic (can't remember the url) mentioned in some other article/discussion had a skit about this. To me it wasn't that funny as I haven't seen any Gilligan's Island episodes, I mean, I know what it's about but the whole thing is just lost to me. I did enjoy that Sun & Jin / Locke analogy the comic had in it. --skks 09:54, 15 March 2006 (PST)
