Michelle Rodriguez was born on July 12, 1978 in Bexar County, Texas. Michelle lived in Texas until the age of eight, where she then moved to the Dominican Republic. Michelle's family remained here until, two years later, the family relocated to Puerto Rico. At the age of 11, Michelle finally settled in Jersey City, New Jersey. An extra in films such as Summer of Sam and Cradle Will Rock, Michelle didn't decide to commit to acting until an open casting call for the female lead in the film Girlfight caught her eye. Michelle auditioned alongside 350 other women, and after five straining months of training and auditioning, Michelle was awarded the role of "Diane Guzman". The role earned Michelle critical acclaim for her performance, which is even more astounding considering the fact that this was Michelle's first official audition for a role. In the second audition of her career, Michelle won yet another role, this time the role of "Letty" in The Fast and the Furious. To accommodate for her role as Ana-Lucia Cortez on Lost, Michelle had to put her movie career on hold, but has managed to act in several recent films, including Bloodrayne and The Breed
