Kate's ex-husband Kevin was employed by the Miami Dade Police and was drugged for his protection when he found out Kate was a fugitive.

Kate's ex-husband Kevin was a member of the Miami Dade police. Kevin was unaware that Kate was a fugitive, and while completing some police IR's for a fugitive that was based out of Tampa, she drugged him and confessed the truth to him. She revealed that her name was not actually Monica and then returned the locket that his mother had given her on their wedding day, and ran once again.
