[edit] Summary
He was a Master Sergeant for the Royal Scots Regiment of Her Majesty's Army, and was the man who provided Desmond Hume with his dishonourable discharge.
He returned Desmond's personal belongings to him, and inquired as to why he didn't bring his copy of Charles Dickens' Our Mutual Friend inside with him, and was informed by Desmond that it was to avoid temptation, as it was the last Dickens book he had yet to read, and that he was saving it so it would be the last thing he read before he died.
