Named "Adam" by Locke, he was a man found in the caves on the island by Jack and Kate, and was estimated to have died 40-50 years before the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 based on the decay of the clothing they were wearing. It is believed that he was laid to rest in the caves. Inside Adam's pocket Jack discovered a pouch containing one black and one white stone.
