Widmore Construction has been featured on Lost and elsewhere. In a Fire + Water flashback, Drive Shaft is filming their videoclip nearby Battersea Power Station, which has a Widmore Construction banner hanging from one of the buildings walls. Widmore Construction is also mentioned on Thomas Werner Mittelwerk's answer phone on the Hanso phone line (part of the Lost Experience) alongside Paik Heavy Industries.

Widmore Labs has also been seen on Lost. The company is seen to be the maker of a pregnancy test kit referenced in The Whole Truth. Widmore Labs has also sponsored or manufactured the balloon of the real Henry Gale.

Bad Twin Book Info

In Chapter 4, Widmore is said to have "begun with mid-town real estate, then expanded to the financial district, Florida, California, the Caribbean..." And that "aspects to the Widmore businesses... arcande construction and engineering projects, investments in wide range of scientific enterprises... At times there had been murmurs of Widmore involvement in off shore ventures that would have been illegal on U.S. soil; other rumors hinted at classified defense contracting or private security work of questionable ethics."

In Chapter 6, Googling "Widmore Corporation" pulls up "over ninety-seven thousand references... sites about the sale of eleven-million-dollar co-ops on Park Avenue, and articles about the construction of office towers in Singapore... references to joint ventures with something called the Hanso Foundation, and links to engineering journals about new techniques for reinforcing concrete... society-page mentions of benefit galas, and investingative pieces about alleged enviromental violations in obscure corners of the world."

In Chapter 6, Paul gets into the elevator and goes to floor 42 (one of the numbers) when he's meant to go to Cliff Widmores office on floor 47 but gets it wrong, when the doors open on 42 he says "Excuse me, is this The Widmore Corporation?" to the receptionist and she replies "no this is The Hanso Foundation, Widmore's on 47". This means both companies work from the same building, that or smaller branches of both companies work in that building.

In Chapter 23, in a apparent new change in the board at Widmore, Alvar Hanso was replaced by Thomas Mittelwerk (only last name is given, assuming it's Thomas). Mittelwerk is described as "sneaky... got ideas and ambition... everything but morals and conscience."

Theories

  • It may be something like ACME
  • The company that made the stations
  • The pregancy test was on the airplane because one of the losties is also recently pregnant.
  • Michael worked for Widmore Construction.
  • Based in Widmore (an area in the London Borough of Bromley) (according to "Bad Twin" those who run it live in America)
  • Widmore Construction was contracted by the Hanso Foundation to build the Stations
  • Widmore Labs provides the DHARMA Initiative with medicines and chemicals. It is also responsible for the quality of the DHARMA-branded food.
  • May have sponsored Desmond's "race around the world".
  • The company was owned by Charles and Libby.
  • Libby is a Widmore.
    • Assuming Libby was not lying to Desmond in "Live together, Die alone", Libby has nothing to do with the Widmores.
  • On the Official Lost Podcast for May 9th, 2006, the producers indicated there are two Widmores, an American and a British one.
  • Locke and Charles Widmore are biological twins, like the fictional Zander and Cliff Widmore of "Bad Twin." See side-by-side

comparison here

    • That's why Henry Gale said Locke is a good and important person knowing that they are twins
  • Could be a contractor used by the Dharma Initiative to build facilities on the island that is also using the knowledge gained from that work to pursue its own agenda. Charles Widmore had personal reasons to dispose of Desmond. Some member of the Widmore family or employee of the Widmore Corporation could have had some personal or professional reason to manipulate Henry Gale into his balloon as well.
