A state in the central midwest United States. Home of Kate. Sawyer spent at least six months here duping Cassidy in the episode "The Long Con". Elements of the "The Long Con" presumably took place in or near Kate's hometown since Kate's mother, Diane, served Sawyer and his fellow con man in the diner scene.
Kate has flashbacks to Iowa in multiple episodes including "Born to Run" where its mentioned that her childhood sweetheart Tom Brennan has a wife Rachel from Cedar Rapids, the largest city in eastern Iowa. Another Kate flashback to Iowa is included in "What Kate Did". Kate's hometown and the specific location of the flashbacks has yet to be reveiled.
According to Tom, "no self respecting man in Iowa goes anywhere without beer".
In the "The Long Con", Sawyer tricked Cassidy into leaving her home to supposedly meet him at a motel off Highway 29 in Sioux City, a town in northwest Iowa. In reality, Interstate 29 runs through Sioux City.
