Thomas Artwork Compare

A comparison between Thomas' and the hatch paintings

  • Several of his paintings look similar in style to the mural inside The Hatch. Bottles of artists acrylic paints are seen in both locations.
  • In Greek, the name Thomas means "Twin." The name, or variations of it, appears frequently in Lost. Including Claire's boyfriend, there are:
*Tom Brennan, Kate's childhood sweetheart seen in Born to Run.
*Tommy, Charlie's drug dealer seen in
*In Two for the Road, Ana-Lucia's nickname for Christian Shepard is "Tom."
  • Anagram of "To Sham"
  • It has been noted that the actor who plays Thomas has similar looks to the actor who plays Henry Gale
  • May have been paid and/or persuaded to leave Claire (possibly by Richard Malkin). Having been so keen to keep the baby and build a family, he has quite an extreme turn around, like he HAS to be somewhere else. This ties in nicely with the story of Kyle Rayner's (Green Lantern) father, who left his family on a covert mission to Southeast Asia, and bears the name Aaron, as does Thomas' son.
  • Thomas is the twin of "Henry Gale" -- look at their pictures and the manuscript Hurley was reading by the fire: "Bad Twin" (a book to be published in May 2006 in association with the show) Also, could be his uncle who he said had "died" of cancer in "Raised by Another."
  • Thomas may be related in some way to Desmond, since he is most likely the one who painted the mural in The Swan Station. He may be a brother, twin, fellow artist,...
  • It is possible that the producers of this show hired the same artist to do all of the painting, and so not realizing that the art would be analyzed in this way (or perhaps not caring) the artwork ended up looking similar. Oops.
  • There is a red lava lamp in the Swan similar (if not identical) to the one in his apartment... but how could he have been in the Swan if we last see him only a couple of months before the crash?
