Second Steve
The diary on the official Lost website featured a subplot in which the unidentified second author became paranoid about his brother's alleged captivity in the hatch. It was assumed that he meant Henry Gale (either the real one or the imposter), but the brother was eventually revealed to be another man named Steve who died in the crash and whom Jack helped to bury. The author of the diary had suppressed the memory until being shown his grave at what he calls "Boone Hill." (It is worth noting that the bodies of the passengers who died in the crash, as Steve apparently did, were burned in the fuselage, not buried.)
