LUMURIA ISN'T REAL[]

just like father christmas its made up (oops sorry kids)> Lumeria was a persumed sunken continent to make up for biogeographic dicontinuities, like Lemurs being only on madugascar but fossils of them being in china (hence lemuria... get it?) Thanks to the satanic invention of plate tectonics (its nearly as evil as macroevolution kids), it was debunked...no evidence lumuria ever existed, um it didn't

whats my point (beyond a good rant)? this page needs rewriting if it is going to make sense - Mikey - "so emo, it hurts - 15:28, 26 May 2006 (PDT)

futher to my original point, is this article some kind of joke? Reptoid/Dinoid era? WTF!

I'm still working on the page, but the parallels between Lemuria and the Lost island (healing powers, location, statue, dreams, teleportation, the numbers, etc.) make this a very fun, plausible theory. Patvs

  • It doesn't really matter if Lemuria is real or not. Neither is Lost. It is an interesting theory that may or may not tie into Lost mythology in the future. It's as plausible as any other the other Fanon theories. I say keep it. --Uth 18:26, 26 May 2006 (PDT)
  • Where's the line between wishful thinking and a valid theory? If the article shoehorns facts to make them appear valid I vote for it as a goner. --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 18:28, 26 May 2006 (PDT)
    • exactly i think everyone above has missed my point, this article presents utter rubbish as scientific fact, and it makes me feel a bit ill

This article makes me lose hope in the human race, I vote for deletion--CaptainInsano
  • Keep - It isn't any worse than the christmas theory. --Jambalaya 08:42, 27 May 2006 (PDT)

Main problems...[]

Cayce is a pseudoscientist and self-proclaimed 'psychic'. . This entry as it is asserts that he indeed has powers and that the existence of Lemuria is a valid scientific theory. We are discussiong a work of fiction, inside the LOST mythos psychic powers might be real (Walt's being 'special'), but Cayce's teachings were originally intended to be taken as describing real events, while they are works of fiction themselves. (Read the Skeptic's dictionary entries on Von Däniken, for example) I suggest rewriting this article to eliminate the assumption that the island was part of Lemuria to include the possibility that it might be part of any lost continent (who says they are not in R'lyeh, where The Great Cthulhu lies sleeping according to HP Lovecraft mythos?) A subsection would indeed mention Lemuria, Mu, Hyperborea, the Cthulhu Mythos. Then we could move the article to Lost Continent (theory) --†††GodEmperorOfHell††† 07:33, 27 May 2006 (PDT)
