"clue" article versus "timeline" article

Does anyone else find this article to be INCREDIBLY duplicative of the "timeline" article? It seems pretty silly to have two articles organized by date. As it is, this article is going to get HUGE as the ARG continues into the summer. I would organize THIS article by SUBJECT and the other timeline article by DATE. That way, certain in-depth subjects (like DJ Dan, letcompassbeyourguide.com) could have thier own main article that provides even further detail and take up less space on the page. Then the timeline article can either point to the specific "clue" section on this page or it can point to a main article (if it's been created). --Sid67 10:32, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

New article

I moved the clues here because I think they will begin to expand over several websites, not just THF.org, and because they were taking over the THF.org article. LOSTonthisdarnisland 23:12, 11 May 2006 (PDT)

excellent--Arcon 02:10, 12 May 2006 (PDT)

I have moved some parts of the press release into another section called "other". They are clearly not press release and are other clues for the game. -- Chatake 08:22, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

Folder Named Paris?

may just be the naming system used by the web maintainance people... servers at UNI are named after greek gods and drives on the servers after astronomical bodies etc (Mikey 18:36, 16 May 2006 (PDT))

Mikey... your speculation is better suited to one of the message boards about the game, rather than editing notes on the wiki. I would advise catching up on the events that have already taken place in the game in order to find your answer.--Bernini 22:10, 16 May 2006 (PDT)

What are you talking about? I thought discussion was part of the process of building the page. He's just saying that something that we think is a clue might turn out not to be, which is very relevant to this page. ArgentiumOutlaw 09:50, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

Yes, discussion is part of the process, however, in-game speculation is better suited for somewhere else. There are plenty of message boards that suit that purpose, not to mention that there is plenty of established evidence that, well, he's wrong, which he would have known if he was up to date on game progess.--Bernini 10:21, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

That's what this page is for. Discussion. Hence the title.--Bremerton 05:05, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
i would like think i was pretty up to date with the game, and after todays addition it looks like whatever you were talking about,"I would advise catching up on the events that have already taken place in the game in order to find your answer" was wrong.
Is there any need to flame me like this? i was just speculating and as you cannot disprove my theory it is as relevent as any other. the talk pages are for discussion, and as there is no evidence to prove anything, perhaps you could be a little open minded. This place is full of people saying "jack is Alvar Hanso, But made younger", but when i say something sensible i get attacked, be nice this is supposed to be a community, so show some spirit
Mikey 15:54, 17 May 2006 (PDT)
Mikey raised a good point (although I think that the clue should stay for now, only because of the London folder being available also; the place names might be important given P's clues), one that belongs on the talk pages which are used for discussing content of the articles.LOSTonthisdarnisland 18:16, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

There seem to be some source errors. The only way I'm seeing some of the content is to click through the supplied links in our article. LOSTonthisdarnisland 20:53, 17 May 2006 (PDT)

Check out Hugh's .bash_history. There are several files he transmits to another computer before he deletes them. However, unlike Thompson, he has a .logout script, which implies that his deletion program leaves the files in $HOME/bak/ until he logs out, when they are delted. However, /bak/dcx_contract doesn't work. I am almost certain there is stuff in that folder, or we wouldn't be given a clue about it. I also can't find the name that his work computer alias binds to. However, there are files accessible that are not listed in his directory, such as .screenrc. Maybe there is one that has the binding to where the other computer is. --Lewisham 04:35, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

I noticed that too. I'm wondering if bak will allow access later in the game. -- LOSTonthisdarnisland 06:25, 18 May 2006 (PDT)
I also noticed that /usr/pthompso/bin/ gives an access denied rather than a 404. I was tring various paths as they are found in the system files in his folder. --Mbarlowm 14:05, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

London Video

This is just a hunch, but I reckon that Persephone wouldn't have the resources to take that video. Makes me think that the Hanso Foundation is blackmailing its employees and Persephone happened upon the recording.

P states that she 'found' it. LOSTonthisdarnisland 11:29, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Persephone's website updated

The numbers on her site now read 106 103 157 162 235 45 122 202 39 122 26 39 162 218 222 151 42 39 142 87 168 186, different from the May 16th ASCII code. Zombiebomb 13:28, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

These numbers don't look like ASCII. --Doc 13:48, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Okay, "a mouse does not rely on just one hole", got it. (huge thanks to Mr. Pystor) Is that useful information, or is Persephone just waxing philosophic? --Beardog4314 15:08, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Meningococcus theory/comment

This article states 'meningococcus itself only affects humans'. I think that last bullet should be removed. 'Johansson et al. (2003) generated transgenic mice expressing human CD46 and found they were susceptible to meningococcal disease because bacteria crossed the blood-brain barrier in these mice.' (Source) If Hanso is experiementing with genes, it only makes sense that they manipulated primates for testing. We have to allow for thinking outside the reality box; however, this is on its way to becoming a reality in science (for mice, anyway). What do you guys make of this? It may be a fan hoax, but you never know. On this comment board, I found some posts made 5/17 by a "Nora Valhas", which is an anagram for "Alvar Hanso":

Most people ignored this. One person provided a translation for the latin "The answer sleeps beneath the surface of the water." It has the numbers, a blanked out name of the Island, and the interesting "10 is the magic number." I thought the crack team of wikinauts should know about this. I don't know. I used 'mouthpiece' (one word) before I realised it was 'mouth piece' (two words) and got the same thing when I went back and tried the other. Caps don't seem to matter either. LOSTonthisdarnisland 18:56, 19 May 2006 (PDT)

To me on the receipt from La Belle Epoque very faintly it looks like "Faye Cook" or "Faye Cash" not a "paid cash" stamp.
