  • May have made a mistake by declaring Christian Shephard as deceased, similar to what he may have done with Charlotte Malkin. This would explain how Jack saw his father in Season One.
    • He's probably not the person who declared Charlotte dead. It would probably not have been his job. She was brought to him "dead", presumably in his role as a coroner. There's no reason to believe he had any business declaring anything about Christian's life status either.
    • If Christian Shepard wasn't dead by the time he got to the coroner, he would have died on the table during the autopsy. If there were no autopsy, the embalming procedure would have done him in anyway.
