Lost: The Complete First Season was released as a widescreen seven-disc Region 1 DVD box set in the USA on September 6, 2005, two weeks before the premiere of the second season. It was distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment. In addition to all the episodes that had aired, it included several DVD extras such as episode commentaries, behind-the-scenes footage and making-of features as well as deleted scenes, deleted flashback scenarios and a blooper reel.
The second season was released as a widescreen seven-disc Region 1 DVD box set in the USA on September 5, 2006 and on Region 2 DVD on October 2, 2006, retitled as Lost: The Complete Second Series. Each of these releases also contained DVD extras, including Behind the Scenes Footage, deleted scenes and a "Lost Connections" chart, which shows how all of the characters on the island are inter-connected with each other.

A plane crash strands the surviving passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 on a seemingly deserted tropical island, forcing the group of strangers to work together to stay alive. However, their survival is threatened by several mysteries, including the contents of a hatch buried in the ground, an unknown creature that roams the jungle, and the motives of the inhabitants known as "the Others".

A prevalent theme throughout is a conflict between faith and science. The story continues 44 days after the crash. Several new characters appear, including the tail section survivors Ana-Lucia Cortez, Bernard, Libby, and Mr. Eko. Also introduced are Desmond, a man calling himself "Henry Gale", Alex Rousseau, and other island inhabitants. The existence of the DHARMA Initiative and its benefactor, the Hanso Foundation, is established.
| The Complete Third Season
The story continues 67 days after the crash. New crash survivors appear on-screen, as well as previously unseen Others, as three of the crash survivors are held in captivity by them. We learn more about the Others as well as the mysterious Dharma Initiative as the survivors face continuous threats from their enemies and also their friends.
| The Complete Fourth Season
Season 4 continues with the stories of a group of more than forty people who have been stranded on a remote island in the South Pacific after their airplane crashed ninety-three days prior to the beginning of the season. They are assailed by a group of dangerous island inhabitants they call the "Others" and attempt to escape the mysterious island. Episodes will continue to feature secondary storylines showing points in characters' lives before and after their time on the island.
