After boarding Oceanic Flight 815, Hurley placed his headphones on and began listening to his music. Hurley later found his CD Player on the island and would occasionally listen to it. The music Hurley was listening to would also be incorporated into the soundtrack of the episode to serve as a closing effect. It was in "...In Translation" that the batteries in the CD Player died and he could no longer listen to music.
