The Adam and Eve bodies (as named by Locke) were skeletons found in the cave by Jack but have not been seen since. They were carrying one black, one white stone just like the stones Locke carries. Jack took these stones and neglected to mention them when Locke asked what had been discovered. Believed to have been dead 50+ years due to the deterioration of their clothing.

Theories

  • High priests of Israel are theorized to have used different valuable gems with various inscriptions on them (called Urim and Thummim) to decide God's will and help in decision making. The black and white stones are possibly such devices.
  • These stones play an important role in the book "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coehlo. A book that is entirely about destiny, fate, and finding your place in the universe.
  • Locke introduces Backgammon as a game where "there are two players; one black, one white."
  • These are the remains of Gerald and Karen DeGroot.
  • These are the remains of the French expedition.
  • These are the remains of previous inhabitants of the hatch(es).
  • These are the remains of Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan, who mysteriously disappeared over the Pacific Ocean during a circumnavigational flight in 1937.
