Robbie Hewitt was an operative for the Australian Secret Intelligence Service working with Agent Melissa Cole of the CIA, who was responsible for the detaining of Sayid Jarrah at Heathrow Airport in London, England. When 300 pounds of C-4 is stolen from a base outside of Melbourne, Australia; Sayid is picked up to assist them in the retrieval of it as his former roommate is involved with the situation. When Sayid objects to the situation, he is told he would be presented with the location of Noor Abed Jazeem with whom he’d been estranged with for years.
When Sayid returns informing Robbie and Melissa that Essam did not think he could do it, he attempted to gain safety for Essam, and turn his roommates in as they were the ones she wanted. However, after Sayid revealed that Essam did not know where the C-4 was, he was told that if he did not cooperate that Nadia would be arrested for being an enemy combatant.
After Essam commits suicide and the C-4 is retrieved, Sayid is presented with Nadia’s location and a ticket for an Oceanic Flight to Los Angeles. When Sayid is informed by Robbie that Essam would be cremated, Sayid would have his flight changed to remain in Sydney to claim Essam’s body to provide him with a proper Muslim burial.
